Bil-Jax 36XT self-propelled telescopic boom lift

The Bil-Jax 36XT is a self-propelled telescopic boom lift from the X-Boom range: about 43 ft of working height and 32 ft of outreach on a four-wheel-drive chassis that drives at up to 3.5 mph and climbs a 45% grade. Instead of a heavy counterweight it sets up on hydraulic outriggers with automatic leveling, ready in under 30 seconds.
That makes it light: at 5,020 lb it goes on a utility trailer behind a medium-duty SUV or truck, with no commercial driver's license needed, and its low point and floor loading suit lawns, landscaping and finished floors. It runs on batteries or on its gas engine, and a 4,500 watt generator supplies outlets at the platform.

Where the literature disagrees
Figures changed between production years and with options, so the serial plate on your machine is the final word. Other archived 36XT literature says:
- The 2006 36XT brochure lists 43 ft (13.1 m) working height, an 8 ft 8 in wheelbase, an outrigger footprint of 12 ft 2 in x 11 ft 3 1/2 in, 12 1/2 in footpads, 1.75 mph on DC power and a platform 60 in x 30 in with a 43 in rail; weight 5,020 lb (2,277 kg).
Working height is the platform height plus 6 ft (2 m in metric), as is standard for aerial work platforms. Later Bil-Jax literature carries the Haulotte Group name, which is why the same machine is also looked up as the Haulotte 36XT.
